Short Point is one of Merimbula’s most loved coastal destinations, drawing tourists, fishermen, surfers, families, whale watchers and walkers year long. As part of the “Bega Valley Shire – A Destination For All” initiative, the site has been transformed into a stunning location with significant accessibility upgrades to ensure the whole community can enjoy this space.

GX Outdoors’ took an important role in this project by supplying durable and long-lasting Wave Seats and Citistyle Table Settings. These products both feature the Natural Hard Wood, enhancing comfort and sustainable elements complementing the natural beauty of the headland.

The project stems from the 2018 Short Point Master Plan, identifying the need for change to better accommodate high visitation and enhance accessibility. $235,000 was allocated to the initiative, reinforcing the commitment of Bega Valley Shire Council to create inclusive outdoor spaces. The “Destination for All” project continues to deliver social and economic benefits across the region with support from the NSW Government Restart Program, community groups, and other agencies.
