Ipswich City Council
Project Overview
Queens Park, located in Ipswich, was delivered as part of the Ipswich Council’s Indigenous Accord (2020–2025), honoring First Nations men and women while recognising the cultural significance of Queens Park to the Traditional Owners. Designed as a place for commemoration, reflection, education, and healing, it brings together storytelling and landscape to support reconciliation and shared understanding within the community. Our Contribution
GX Outdoors supported the delivery of this landmark space by supplying infrastructure that enhances both function and storytelling throughout the site. This included a fully customised shelter featuring laser cut artwork inspired by the cultural narrative of the place, creating a striking and meaningful focal point within the park. We also provided our Akuna drinking fountain and Citistyle heritage bin enclosures, carefully selected to complement the surrounding environment while supporting everyday usability and durability. Together, these elements help create a cohesive, welcoming, and respectful space that invites reflection and connection in a truly significant setting.
