Opossum Park, Brookwater QLD

Project Overview

Home to the Ash Barty Playground, Opossum Park in Brookwater is a space that celebrates one of Australia’s iconic athletes. Designed with help from Ash herself, this 470K project was delivered in partnership with TLCC and funded by the QLD Government in collaboration with Ipswich City Council. Revisiting the childhood of Ash, the park features a half tennis court and rebound wall where kids can practice their skills just like she did.

Our Contribution

GX Outdoors supplied a semi-customised AKORA Skillion Shelter which features laser-cut design adding cultural value to the park making it stand out from other projects. Complementing the shelter is the Streetstyle Table Setting and Park Seats. These have enhanced the space to invite users to socialise and spend quality time with their families.

The Impact

This vibrant outdoor space was accomplished with Ash Barty’s intention to bring the people together and give something back to her community. The GX Outdoors solution supports those everyday moments and time spent outdoors, adding the final touch to creating something special at Opossum Park.
