Project Overview

The Fraser Coast Adoption Center in Hervey Bay provides an important first step for people looking to welcome a new animal into their family, with more than 650 dogs entering the facility each year.

The existing meet and greet area was no longer meeting the needs of the dogs or the families visiting. The space had limited room, inadequate shade and poor seating, making it difficult to provide a comfortable environment for families to spend time getting to know the dogs. 

The vision was to create an inviting, calm and open environment incorporating natural grass, shade and durable seating to create a more welcoming setting for these important introductions.

Our Contribution

GX Outdoors supplied four Integra EX Bench Seats to support the creation of the new meet-and-greet spaces. 

Finished in Blackbutt TimberImage, the seating provides the natural warmth and appearance of timber while retaining the durability and performance benefits of aluminium. This was particularly important for a environment where furniture needs to withstand regular use from visitors and dogs, while also being easy to clean and disinfect. 

The new meeting spaces have made a significant difference to the adoption experience. With a comfortable outdoor space, families can spend more time interacting with the dogs in a calm environment, helping potential adopters build a stronger connection and make more informed decisions when choosing their new family member.
